CD front cover draft process

In media we have been planning out CD covers, so therefore i have started a draft on photoshop because it will help me with how to create my actual CD cover when we start. This is not finished.  

Start of CD Print Product Research

Me and my group have started to create a research for our CD covers. For everyone to be able to contribute our work Eleanor came up with the idea of google slides where she sends us a link through out emails to be able to do different things at the same time. We were doing this while sitting next to each other using computers, how ever we could also retrieve and it when we are at home which made it useful and successful.

Group Meeting ; CD Cover

In class yesterday we have started to plan the pictures for our CD covers. Therefore me and my group had a meeting and was searching up some online and we also had some hard copies. We were looking at some ideas to inspire us for the CD Cover.
These are the ones we looked at and I personally liked.

Music Video Draft Feedback

In class last week we were all giving out feedback after watching other videos. Me and my group also received some feedback which was helpful to help improve our videos for the last days of editing.





Positive Feedback
The drawing outline on the artist is creative, Add more of it because its good; "More Abstract than just doing gestures"
The colours in the video is interesting.
The reverse shots which sync in with the bit
The black and white effect in the ending was good
The lip sync was good, " The performance was very good as well"
"Nice track"
Negative Feedback
Some Shots are too bright
One of the scenes in the studio were grainy so adding colour filters to improve it.
Add more colour filter in the other scenes as some scenes were juxtaposing each other
Minor lip sync issues.


The overall Thoughts and feedback session was a success because it was an audience thought. It is a good way to help make changes before releasing it publically. With out this we probably would have not changed many things with the video to improve it went continued with some minor issues we had, We also had some great feedback which made us feel happy with the hard work we have out in.

Sharing Our Ideas

What we did in media today was helpful for us as a group. This is because we all watched each others draft videos and gave feedback to one another. The feedback we got would then enable is to be able to make some minor changes to our video.

Editing

In media today i decided to edit in the parts which are missing in the video. The reason the there were bits missing is because we had done a rough bit of editing and there were clips in between which were missing so i filled in the gaps. I found it a successful editing session as i managed to get what i wanted to achieve done which was fill in the missing gaps.

Filming - TV STUDIO

My group decided to film me today as we came up with a new idea. This is because some of the bedroom studio scenes did not work so therefore we decided to use the TV studio to record as it can be seen as a professional background. We had many different takes so we could pick out which one was the best. It was a successful shoot as we had support from others to help us hold the white background. We all worked together as a team to get things sorted.

Issues Alert from editing / filming

I recorded again at my house for the scenes such as the home studio and the bedroom scene however we realised that the quality of the shots taken were still grainy and dark. So due to this me and Moshope came up with an idea that we should not use the bedroom location as the it was not doing any justice for us due to lighting and camera problems, so due to this we thought of an idea of where to record instead of my house. Therefore at lunch time we had booked the TV studio for a session to record. What Moshope did was then film me sitting at a table writing with a pen and pad which was a narrative scene being filmed for the video. I believe that this was successful because the lighting went very well and the video was not grainy. 

Filming at home {Again}

I booked the camera for last night to take home. I took it home because the last time i took it home to film there were problems that i did not realise such as back ground things that were not suposed to be involed such as a messy wardrobe and pictures. The lighing from before was not perfect also so i tried to make sure that the lighting was more better than how it was before. I believe it was a goid experience to do this again because to me it is a lesson learnt for the future

Filming - Leake Street

Today we went out to Leake Street to shoot some parts for our music video cold streets. Even though it is half term we are still managing to keep our hard work so we can be able to achieve a great video. We were able to film a few location shots / cut ways, and also some performance shots inside of the tunnel. I believe today was successful as we managed to get the filming done.

Filming - On the streets

Me, Eleanor, Jadar and Moshope have started to film on our streets locations - Lea Bridge Road and other small roads next to it and our college. We decided to start filming on road near Lea Bridge Road as we found it a good location to film on our way, the reason why is because we believed that filming in these roads were quiet and  we were not distracted by people walk.

At first we did practice runs to make sure we know what we are doing. The reason why we did practice runs was because we had a prop which was a crown which was required to be broken during the shoot, so therefore we only had one chance to get it right, So the practice was effective as we got the shot correct the first time round.

When we started filming at Lea Bridge Road lots of cars and people were coming past as it is and open area / public place. What we did was that we decided to take some establishing shots and do a performance shot as the cars and buses behind me were out of focus and for me the artist was in focus. This was one creative thing we done. However there were minor problems while filming, one was the lighting for example the sun would come one minute and go the next. However we decided to wait for a couple minutes for the sun to disappear as the song is called Cold Streets so it can relate. 

Overall i believe that the shoot out on the streets went well as we managed to get the filming done. We made sure that everyone in our group was hydrated. There were no major problems and hazards, and we managed to get back to college safely.

Research And Planning

Start of Editing

Today we started on the editing on bits we thought would go well onto the video. The bit we added were some of the acting parts which is why we added it early into the filming. We have not added any performance shots yet as we will be filming more so therefore there will be more to choose from. Also some shots from the story board has not filmed so that is why we have not started to edit the performance shots. 

Changes to be made!

Me and the group came towards a problem due to the footage of the filming, we realized that there were certain things in the background of the shot in my bedroom that messed the video up an was not suitable enough to be edited into. One thing was the teddy bear mat in the back of the shot which should not be in the video as it can distract the audience. And also the wardrobe was open in the back and it made it look messy.

We decided that we should take the camera back to my house / home studio and film it again, however this time to make sure that i look at the pictures i take to see if there are anything distraction in the scene such as the teddy bear and opened wardrobe. Also for next time i plan to use a better lighting in the room as the lighting for this shot looked quite dimmed.

Filming - Home / Home Studio

On the first day of filming i decided to take the camera home so i can film some scenes that can be related to the music video. On the other hand as i have a home recording studio i was able to use that in the video. The reason why it was a perfect location for the video is because it was a great way to act out the scene 'The pen and pad is never sleeping' where i then get out of bed and write lyrics where then there is a pen and pas required as a prop. The scene is significant because it is in the story board so it will be more realistic to add these scenes into the video.

Filming - The Studio

Today we all started filming and the first location we filmed was in the studio. The studio was a scene created which related to the positive side of the story which was said in the song and we decided to do different shots.

I felt it was a fun experience because people who do not normally film me who are people in my media class did for the first time which i believe it was different. We also used the speakers to be able to play the music out loud so it is easier to
